Week of Weird!

Last week I told you about some of the very unique/random items that I have been able to sell thru craigslist and ebay. Well this week really takes the cake! My husband typically buys great stuff and does a really good job at finding the diamond in the rough. About a month ago he bought $20 worth of plastic hobby type models. My initial thought was what were you thinking? He bought these when during a yard sale that I missed because I had to take Kayley to the bathroom...as usual! So, we got home and he started the research and according to him we should have atleast made our money back. I posted them on ebay and....nothing! They have been sitting in the garage and I decided why not try craigslist and...they just sold along with some other models he bought at the swap meet. So we made our money back plus some!

The other strange buy this week was a Budweiser blimp that we bought for $6
way back in November when we first started the yard sales. I have had multiple people text me and email me about the blimp but it never ge
ts sold. Finally, someone who worked right around the corner from where I live picked it up. She is giving it to her husband for Father's Day for his garage.

I'm glad I held off to finish my blog until this morning because yesterday I received a text on an item that Anthony bought that I thought would never sell. Its a metal antique ice box with a clock......yeah that's what I was thinking too but someone bought it. They are putting it in a house of prayer. I am so glad we are finally rid of it!

On the furniture side of things we are a little slow right now because its moving week. We are moving Saturday and our dresser will not make it to another house...thanks Ikea! After doing some research online I found that dressers were anywhere from $400-$1000 depending on color and style. Needless to say that now I hit garage sales I have no interest in buying furniture for that much. So, the hunt began, finally we found a 10 drawer wood dresser for $75! We sanded, painted, sanded, painted, and sanded some more and we have a beautiful white wood dresser that is exactly what we wanted.

  1. We re-did a couple dressers once. I swear between all the stripper, paint, brushes, sand paper, etc etc we could have bought a new one for the same price! Yours looks amazing though, way better than ours!
