A little crafty!!

A couple of weeks ago I was reading a blog that I follow consistently called Oops!! redone and found this really cute way of using vintage frames and giving them a makeover.  She created cute little memo boards with vintage frames and chicken wire.  She went through and explained how to do it and it seemed easy enough.  But, as I found out last night...its not!  But the end product is really cute!!

Here is the before picture of the frame I used...I found it at a yard sale for .50!

Here is what it looks like now....very cute!  I decided to use it for all of my daughters little hair clips instead of as a memo board.

If anyone is interested in one of these please email me at slsharp81@gmail.com.  I am on the lookout right now for more frames.

Beautiful Antique White

This past Saturday at a yard sale we found this beautiful tiger oak antique dresser with mirror.  I started looking at it and the owner came up and started talking to me about it.  He started telling me that he has had this piece for over 19 years it had been given to him as a wedding present.
When we got this home Saturday I immediately started working on it, and forgot to take before pics!   I just finished distressing it this morning and here is the finished product.  A beautiful shabby chic white dresser!!

The pictures don't really do this piece justice, it looks so good in person.  I have this for sale right now on craigslist for $150.  Until next project...

Its Back!!

Last week I left you with a picture of an unfinished dresser/hutch and didn't tell you what color it was going to be but....the turquoise is back!!!  I love this color and finish on anything curvy.  Here is the before picture again.  I know that it looks funny without the drawers and cabinet door but the hubby got a quick jump on this one and I got the picture when I could.
After a couple days of work...here is what I have now for sale.
$150

My thought is that since there isn't a mirror anymore it can be used with or without the harp. It has the most unique vintage hardware I have ever seen!!!  I have a few more pieces that should be done this week...my 2 year old willing...lol!  I should have another blog update in the next couple days!!

We All Make Mistakes!

This week I learned that just because a color looked good on one dresser doesn't mean it will work on another.  Well, I knew this but I have always made it work this time I had to redo the whole thing!  We found this dresser at a thrift store and picked it up for a really good price.  The dresser itself is from the 1950's/1960' made from real wood which is so hard to find these days.  We brought it home and got started immediately.  Here is what it looked like when we brought it home...
How often do you find a 9 drawer dresser made from real wood.  The top is a veneer finish, which is hard to get through, but can be done.  The drawers are super deep!!  Here is what it looked like when I finished it the first time...

Its hard to see but its the same light pink with white hardware that I did on the dresser from last week.  As you can see its boring and you can barely even tell its pink!!  Ugh I was so mad, I hate when I spend this kind of time and don't like the result.  So, another pink paint color later and more spray paint and here is what we have now...

We bought a new pink and changed the hardware to a pretty brass color to make the pink stand out.  This is for sale right now on craigslist for $175.  It would be prefect for a nursery to be used as a dresser and a changing table!

Here are a couple other projects that were finished this week as well:
Pretty Wrought Iron Plant Stand
$35
Rectangular Turquoise Entry Way Table
$75

We are finishing up another beautiful dresser this week!  We were having a rough yard sale day and then we went to just one more and dropped more than we ever have at one yard sale!  Here is what it looked like when it was sanded waiting for paint...
Guess what color!!!!  Until next week...

Pretty in Pink

From the title I bet you can guess what color I am loving right now....PINK!  But not just any pink its a really soft beautiful pink that you wouldn't expect to see after my obsession with turquoise.  A couple of weeks ago my husband found this dresser and I thought, as usual, yikes its a piece of junk!  Once again he proved me wrong and this dresser turned out to be one of my favorite pieces, I know I have said that before.

Here is the before picture of the dresser...
I wish you could have seen it up close and personal it looked terrible!! Here is what it looked like when we were done with it...

Sold already $140!!

Its the original hardware too that the dresser came with.  I just cleaned it with some hot soapy water and then spray painted them in a really nice glossy white color.  This dresser sold within 24 hours of being on craigslist!!

Here are some other pieces that I have for sale right now on craigslist:

                                                 Light blue side table $45
                                             Wrought iron vanity bench $40

I have alot of projects right now so hopefully I will have alot more to show you next week, thanks for reading!
